Founded in 1999, Cidade Escola Aprendiz’s (Aprendiz) develops and implements programs that promote community initiatives and influence comprehensive education policies. Operating in nine states in Brazil, Aprendiz conducts and disseminates research, provides training for managers, educators and social leaders, and supports the implementation of education policy.
Why We Invested
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which impacted schools and learning across the country, Aprendiz launched Revolta da Escola, a campaign that helps public school networks rebuild. They work together with their partner organizations and local schools to propose recommendations. We are investing in Aprendiz because rebuilding learning in Brazil with equity at the forefront is critical for helping learners and their families move forward, especially those from communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
