Q+A

What current IF endeavors most excite you?

I am excited about all of our work, but there is a special place in my heart for adult learners. I am really jazzed about the work that we do to support that group of amazing humans.

If someone narrated your life, who would you want it to be?

Maya Angelou. Every word she uttered sounds like a musical note.

Where is your happy place?

Anywhere with a breathtaking sunrise.

What do you imagine or wish for the future?

A kinder world.

What's the closet thing to magic in real life?

The resilience of human beings to survive and even thrive under the most dire circumstances.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A journalist. I have always enjoyed writing and telling a good story. My dream job was to have a weekly column in a popular magazine with millions of readers!

If you could be one character from a book, who would you choose and why?

I finally read Americana by Chiamanda Ngozi Adichie. I really resonate with Ifemelu, the main character in that book quite a bit. It's a story of the Nigerian, American cross-cultural experience, which in many ways defines who I am.

Favorite Quote

At the moment, my favorite quote is from a 2019 interview I watched with Jon Bon Jovi where he said, "Find your good and do it.”
