Meet Marlin Reyes, the Global Head of Finance at Imaginable Futures. Marlin oversees and develops finance systems, policies and practices; and is a trusted advisor in accounting and budgeting principles. She leads continuous improvement in finance operations and updates to IF's practices using a JEDI framework.

Marlin brings more than 15+ years of expertise in operational fund management specializing in finance, accounting, operations, investor relations and compliance. In her previous role as Chief Financial, Operations and Compliance officer at Saidler & Co, she played a pivotal role in establishing the back-office infrastructure for Crypto Hedge Fund, overseeing finance, operations and compliance functions.

Prior to Saidler & Co she served as the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Finance at Trident Management LLC, a Private Equity firm. In this capacity, Marlin spearheaded the launch and development of the firm’s back-office infrastructure and led various functions including finance, operations, compliance, and investor relations while also chairing the compliance and valuation committees. She also served as a Controller at The Olayan Group, a private multinational enterprise, where she managed the accounting, operations, and compliance of the alternative investment arm in the US.

Her professional journey also includes roles at renowned firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), MSD Capital and a Global Macro Fund in New York.

What professional accomplishment are you: (1) most proud / greatest success? (2) biggest failure or learning?

Building back office infrastructure for a young black founder in Private Equity. My biggest learning would be to be patient! Hard things take time!


If you didn’t work at Imaginable Futures, what would you be doing?

Continue to focus on ways to support families and students obtaining quality education for children of color.



What did you want to be when you grew up?

When I was in elementary school I wanted to become a doctor to take care of the sick.



Where is your happy place?

With my family anywhere watching a beautiful sunset


What’s the closest thing to real magic in this world?

A child's laughter, can’t imagine a more infectious feeling!


Favorite season?

Summer, I’m Carribean! I like it hot!

Love them both!


What do you imagine or wish for the future?

I wish for a world where children can grow up, pursue their dreams and have opportunities irrespective of their circumstances at birth.
