Why We Invested

The security of parenting students’ basic needs is central to their ability to pursue and education that leads to long-term economic security. Understanding and elevating student parents as a key population for consideration when considering students’ basic needs and determining how to allocate and effectively utilize emergency aid funding is critical. Imaginable Futures supports the Hope Center and Believe in Students’ study of student parents’ basic needs, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as best practices for distributing emergency aid fors student parents. We believe that these reports will build awareness of student parents and provide the resources needed to allow higher education institutions and policy makers to implement practices that benefit student parents.
