Why We Invested
Teachers are the single most important factor in improving student achievement. That’s why, while most education innovation is geared toward students, we are excited about innovations that vault teachers to the top of their game. The opportunity for teacher-centric innovation is especially urgent in Brazil where the country’s first set of national learning standards were recently implemented. We're excited to build on Nova Escola's direct relationship with teachers and expertise in the national standards to deliver a rigorous set of digital and blended courses to support teachers in the implementation of the national learning standards.
What We've Learned
With support from Lemann Foundation and Omidyar Network, Nova Escola will develop a rigorous set of digital and blended courses to support teachers in the implementation of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular, given the country’s first set of national learning standards.
